Laughing at Tink

For some reason this past week Nicholas has really taken a liking to Tink. He thinks that she is funny, especially during dinner time when he is trying to get food! Of course, we didn't get on tape when he was laughing REALLY hard!

Feeding time!

On Saturday Nicholas tried rice cereal for the first time! Since he just turned four months we decided to slowly try to get him started on it (although, we haven't had more since then). At first he made the usual face of disgust, but after a few more bites he decided it was okay.

Keeping busy!

Nicholas was so good at Rae's wedding and was so excited to meet more of his family! Sadly, Eric changed him during the ceremony, but Nicholas wasn't done and he peed all over his outfit. Or maybe he really just wanted a costume change!

Last Thursday I took Nicholas to an open gym at Gymboree. He fell asleep immediately afterwards, so I decided that was something I needed to sign up for! On Monday we had our first actual class where he clapped along with songs, had tummy time, sensory feeling and finished with bubbles. He loved it!! We also get to go to as many open gyms a week as we want so we went yesterday. He is working on sitting up alone. It happened for a second and then he toppled over.

**One year ago today Eric and I turned in our application to start the adoption process. We just want to thank all of our friends and family for being so supportive! We can't believe how much our lives have changed over this year!

What's new

Okay, I promised myself I was going to be better at this for Nicholas!! So far I have not held up my end of the deal, althought it is probably because things have been pretty boring around here.

Last week we took it pretty easy so this week I decided to try and plan something for each day.

Monday - I took him to JC Penney's and got pictures taken. Needless to say he was stinkin adorable and I bought a lot!
Tuesday - I got my appointments confused and we didn't do much.
Wednesday - Today our social worker came over for a visit
Thursday- We are going to a free class at Gymboree and then driving back to Ankeny when Eric gets home from work for Rae and Nick's wedding. We have been talking about it a lot to Nicholas so I am sure he is excited!
Friday- Lunch with Carla & Kensley and Erin, Carter & Addyson at Palmers! Hopefully the kids don't drive us crazy!!
Saturday- The WEDDING!!

Big boy!

Today we had a milestone! Nicholas was laying in bed next to me and I got up. When I turned back around he had rolled over from his back to his tummy. We think that I may have helped him since I pushed the bed down when I got out. So, I laid him on his belly and went to one side of him and he rolled over fairly quickly. He did that a couple of more times before he wore homself out to tears. I was able to tape him rolling, and he did it in record time!

Easter Weekend

We had a pretty low key weekend around here. On Saturday we just hung around the house... I think! It feels like it was so long ago!

On Easter Sunday we got up early so we could go to the less crowded 7:00 am service. After church we stayed around for Easter breakfast. The rest of the day we just hung out at home, again. We did go on a family walk, but we had to be quick because we were starting to get rained on! Nicholas did decide yesterday that he didn't need to take a nap (usually he takes a 2 hour nap around 11) so he was a little cranky. Hopefully that means more napping today!!

Oh! So after church he was fussing because he was hungry so I turned on Handy Manny while I went to make a bottle. When I came back he was completely calm and watching TV!

Good Friday

Today we went shopping at Target (you will start to see that we do that a lot a week!) and on a Good Friday walk with our church. We went to Target to get one thing and ended up buying Nicholas a few new onesies, some shorts and his new sunglasses so he would be ready for our walk that afternoon.

We walked a little over a mile and a half through downtown Waukesha, stopping at 15 different locations. We had a lot of fun... even though it was hot and windy!
